The 43rd running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 21st July 1937 over 1 1/2 miles of The Curragh, starting at the Howth Post. A pot of 2000 sovereigns was availble, 300 sovereigns to the second and 200 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Mr D Sullivan, trained by Colonel Blake in Ireland, and ridden by Morny Wing. The winner won by 1/2 a length, with 3/4 length between second and third. |
